Dietrich Grünewald

Dietrich Grünewald (born December 14, 1947 in Frankenberg (Eder) ) is a German professor of art didactics .

He studied art and German on teaching and completed the first and second state exam . This was followed by his dissertation in 1976. Since 1978 he has been working in the university department of the University of Dortmund , mainly in the field of art didactics. This was followed by various teaching activities at the universities of Frankfurt am Main , Giessen and Münster when he was awarded the adjunct professor in 1985 . From 1986 to 1990 he was federal chairman of the Association of German Art Teachers (BDK). Ten years later, in 1995, he followed the call to the University of Koblenz-Landau for the C4 professorship for art didactics / art and art theory of the 20th century and the present . He is one of the co-editors of the magazine Kunst und Studium . Grünewald is chairman of the Society for Comic Research .

In addition to art didactics, his main research interests include the scientific processing of comics , caricatures and picture stories. In addition, he conducts research in the areas of museum education and paper theater .
