Jan Stallkamp

Jan Stallkamp (* 1967 in Leverkusen ) is a German engineer and university professor in Mannheim . He is head of the Fraunhofer project group for automation in medicine and biotechnology (PAMB) in Mannheim and holds the professorship for automation in medicine and biotechnology at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University .

Life

Stallkamp was born in Leverkusen in 1967. After studying mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University , he became head of the Medical Technology Competence Center at Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart in 1998. In 2005 he received his doctorate on the subject of "Optical 3D measuring methods for navigation in robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery". In 2012 Stallkamp moved to Mannheim as head of the PAMB. At the Medical Faculty Mannheim he holds the only professorship in Germany for automation in medicine and biotechnology.
