Jaropolk II
. Jaropolk II Vladimirovich ( Ukrainian Ярополк Володимирович ; Russian Ярополк II Владимирович ; * 1082 ; † 18th February 1139 ) was from 1132 to 1139 grand duke of Kievan Rus , son of Vladimir Monomakh and successor of his brother Mstislaws I as Grand Duke.
Under Jaropolk's rule, the fighting among the Rurikids reached a new high point. The Kievan Rus, which had been at the height of its power under Vladimir Monomakh, increasingly disintegrated. From Suzdal , Prince Yuri Dolgoruki began to interfere more and more in Kiev. For the time being, however, Vsevolod Olgovich succeeded in asserting himself as Grand Duke and successor of Jaropolk II.
