Jasmaḫ-Addu

Jasmaḫ-Addu (also Jasmaḫ-Adad ) was according to medium chronology from 1792 to 1773 BC. King of Mari .

He was the son of Šamši-Adad I and the younger brother of Išme-Dagan I. He was installed as king by his father in Mari, where he remained in power for 19 years. However, a short time after his father's death, he was deposed by Zimri-Lim . Correspondence between Jasmaḫ-Addu, his father and his brother ruling Ešnunna was found in the Mari archives. In these, Jasmaḫ-Addu appears as a rather weak leader who was primarily interested in women, horses and fast chariots.
