Javier Parrado
Javier Parrado (born May 26, 1964 in La Paz ) is a Bolivian composer .
Life
Javier Parrado studied music in La Paz at the Escuela Nacional de Música and composition with Cergio Prudencio and Alberto Villalpando at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música . He took master classes with Edgar Alandia, Franco Donatoni , Reinhard Febel, Coriún Aharonián , Víctor Rasgado and Graciela Paraskevaídis, among others . Parrado received scholarships from the Goethe Institute in Berlin and the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico DF. and Centro para la Difusión de la Música Contemporánea in Madrid.
He is a member of the Uyaricuna, ist'asiñani, nos escucharemos and Artekorp projects. The project explores the diverse musical expressions that are produced in Bolivian Andean cultures and connects them to symphonic music.
Awards
In addition to his scholarships, Parrado has already received several awards:
- 1st prize at the Adrián Patiño competition (La Paz, Bolivia 1993 and 2009).
- 1. Prize of the Agustín-Barrios-Mangoré Composition Competition (Salzburg, 2001).
- Best score in the Amalia de Gallardo video competition (La Paz, 2004).
- Honorary certificate X Certamen Internacional de Expresión Coral (Islas Canarias, Spain 2004).
