Javier Tucat Moreno

Javier Tucat Moreno (born July 8, 1973 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Argentine pianist , composer and arranger .

Life

Javier Tucat Moreno studied piano and chamber music at the Juan José Castro Academy of Music in Buenos Aires. After graduating in 1998, he continued his studies in composition, piano and arrangement of tango a . a. with the Beba Pugliese and Aldo Antognazzi . From 2004 to 2007 he studied musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

As a pianist, conductor and arranger of the tango ensemble La Cachetada , he became a finalist at the 1999 "Legend and Tradition" festival in Baradero, Buenos Aires. In search of musical and cultural exchange, he moved to Berlin in 2000. Since then he has been playing all over Germany and Europe in various formations and with musicians of different musical origins.

Since 2007 he has been the pianist of the Orquesta de Tango Qué Tangazo! dedicated to the traditional sound of the Orquestas Típicas . The trio "La Bicicleta" was created in 2009 with the aim of presenting their own compositions and traditional tangos in a new look. From 2004 to 2009 he worked as a pianist, arranger and artistic director of the tango ensemble "Cantango Berlin", with whom he a. a. performed in the Philharmonie Berlin, Philharmonie Wrocław (Poland), Kleines Theater (Salzburg), Teatro Alcalá (Oaxaca, México) and the National Concert Hall Taipei (Taiwan).

His style is shaped by the rhythmic and great musical influences of Argentine folklore and tango. He worked as a piano and music teacher in Buenos Aires, also gives piano lessons in Germany and leads tango workshops. He is a member of the German-Latin American Music Academy.
