Jay Reatard (born May 1, 1980 in Memphis ; † January 13, 2010 there ; actually Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr. ) was an American punk musician from Memphis , Tennessee .

biography

His debut work was released in 1998 under the title Teenage Hate . Reatard was signed to Matador Records . He released a total of 22 albums solo and as a member of the bands The Reatards and Lost Sounds .

Reatard was found dead at his home in Memphis at 3:30 am on January 13, 2010. According to the doctor who conducted the follow-up exams, cocaine, as well as alcohol, played a major role in Reatard's death.
