Jean-François Guiton
Jean-François Guiton (born June 28, 1953 in Paris ) is a French installation and video artist . He lives and works in Bremen .
biography
Guiton studied from 1980 to 1985 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and was a master student of Fritz Schwegler . Since 1982 he has dealt with the medium of video in his artistic work. From 1987 to 1998 he taught fine arts and visual communication at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs (ESAD) in Strasbourg.
Since 1998 he has held a professorship with a focus on experimental film at the University of the Arts in Bremen . There he teaches in the contemporary media studio . Guiton's teaching deals with the tension between external time and personal time. It is about sound-image-sculpture, the entanglement of time and space, real and virtual spatialization.
