Jean-Paul Abalo Yaovi (born June 26, 1975 in Lomé ) is a former Togolese football player .

The defender should pursue a career in higher administrative service initially according to the will of his parents, in a tournament with the youth national team but was discovered by French scouts. He first played in France at LB Châteauroux , then moved to Amiens SC (for which he competed for 10 years) and to the fourth-class USL Dunkerque . But in order to play in a higher class again, he accepted an offer from APOEL Nicosia in early 2006 .

After the 2006 World Cup, he moved to Greece for Ethnikos Piraeus . In the summer of 2007 he followed his former national coach Otto Pfister to Sudan to Al Merrikh Khartoum .

The defender, who is relatively short at 1.77 m, is also the captain of the Togolese national team and, with 64 international matches, an experienced participant in the 2006 World Cup .
