Inyati (North Matabelland)

Inyati ( Buffalo Square ) is located at an altitude of 1,346 m with about 1,000 inhabitants in the province of Matabeleland North on the road from Bulawayo to Eastnor . Around this city in a semi-arid area are various small dams and a large one right next to the place that grew around the Inyati Mission founded in 1859. The land was then given to the mission by King Mzilikazi . That was the first white settlement in Zimbabwe. 84 km to the northwest is Lonley Mine, which produces gold , nickel and tungsten .
