Jean Odermatt
Jean Odermatt (* 1948 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss artist and sociologist. His main work is the "Gotthard Project", a photographic and scenographic exploration in the area of the central Swiss Alpine crossing that began in 1983 and continues to this day . Part of the project was the transformation of the former San Carlo artillery plant of the Swiss Army into a sculptural location and communication center La Claustra, completed in 2004 . The 4,000 m 2 underground facility is located near the top of the pass at 2,050 m above sea level. M. in the area of the Ticino municipality Airolo . The facility was sold in 2012 because it could not be financed by the affiliated hotel business.
