Jeffrey H. Smith

Jeffrey H. Smith (often quoted as Jeff Smith) is an American mathematician who studies algebraic topology.

Smith received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Daniel Marinus Kan in 1981 ( A Nilpotence Theorem in Stable Homotopy Theory ). He is a professor at Purdue University .

Smith is known for his contribution with Michael J. Hopkins and Ethan Devinatz to prove part of the Ravenel Conjecture.
