Jens Petring

Jens Petring (born February 26, 1955 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

education and profession

Jens Petring graduated from a university of applied sciences in 1973. He then studied social work at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences until 1976 and from 1977 to 1984 at the Wuppertal University in the social sciences department. In 1976 he graduated and in 1978 he was officially recognized as a social worker. From 1979 to 1980 he worked as an employee at the city of Remscheid. From 1980 to 1985 he was a social worker at the “Verein Offene Tür eV”, Wuppertal. Petring was managing director of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Rhineland Regional Assembly from 1985 to 1995. From February 2000 to September 2002 he was parliamentary group manager of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the city council of Düsseldorf. From October 2002 to February 2013 he was managing director of KJHV -Rheinland gGmbH.

Jens Petring has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party since 1983. He was a board member in the Wuppertal district association and GAR eV He was also a delegate in the state party council. He is a founding member of the NRW-Forum eV, supporting association of the Ecology Foundation. Further political stations in his career: From 1984 to 1989 member of the Wuppertal City Council. From 1989 to 1994 competent citizen in the JHA, Wuppertal. From 1984 to 1985 member of the Rhineland Regional Assembly. Here he acted as a knowledgeable citizen from 1994 to 2008. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly again.

Jens Petring was a member of the 12th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from June 1, 1995 to June 1, 2000 , into which he entered via the state list.
