Yevgeny Sokolow ( Russian Евгений Соколов ; born June 11, 1984 in Moscow ) is a former Russian cyclist .

Athletic career

Yevgeny Sokolow began his career in 2005 with the Russian Continental Team Omnibike Dynamo Moscow . In 2006 he won a stage each at the Circuit de Saône-et-Loire and at Bidasoa Itzulia. He was also the Russian champion in the U23 road race. In the 2007 season he won a stage and the overall classification at Bordeaux-Saintes and the two one-day races Les Boucles du Sud Ardèche and Chrono de Sainte-Menehould. In 2008 and 2009 Sokolow drove for the French ProTeam Bouygues Télécom , and in 2010 for the Moscow team . In 2009 he had his only start in a Grand Tour at the Giro d'Italia and finished in 164th place. In 2011 he ended his cycling career.
