Jiří Macháček (born July 6, 1966 in Litoměřice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech actor , singer and songwriter .

biography

After graduating from the Gymnázium Na Zatlance , Macháček studied music at the Konzervatoř Jaroslava Ježka , at the Faculty of Law at the Charles University in Prague and acting at the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . He then played theater and made his debut as a film actor in the fairy tale film The Pearl Maiden at the side of Karolína Sochorová and Filip Blažek, which was released in 1997 and directed by Vladimír Drha . In 2000 Macháček was awarded the Czech film prize Český lev as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Jakub in the comedy Loner . He received another nomination for Best Actor for his performance in Horem pádem .

Parallel to his acting is also a singer and songwriter in the band Mig 21 , with whom he has released three albums so far.

Macháček has been divorced from animator Kristina Dufková since 2000 , with whom he has two children.
