Jiao (Jiamusi)

Jiao ( 郊区 , Jiāo Qū  - "suburb") is a municipality in the prefecture-level city of Jiamusi in the northeast Chinese province of Heilongjiang . It has an area of ​​792 km² and has 470,000 inhabitants (2008). In July 2006, Jiao was expanded to include the dissolved Yonghong District .

Administrative structure

At the community level, Jiao consists of two street districts , five large communities and six communities . These are:

• Jiaxi Street (佳 西 街道);
• Youyi Street District (友谊 街道);
• Aoqi Municipality (敖 其 镇);
• Greater community Changfa (长发镇);
• Dalai Community (大 来 镇);

• Ping'an Township (平安 乡);
• Community Qunsheng (群胜乡);
• Community Sifeng (四丰乡);
• Community Xigemu (西格木乡);
• Community Yanjiang (沿江乡).

Also in the Jiao administrative region are:

• the state farmland development suburb (郊区 农垦);
• the Lianjiangkou State Prison (莲 江口 监狱).
