Jiaohe ( 蛟河 市 , Jiāohé Shì ) is an independent city , which as such belongs to the administrative area of ​​the independent city ​​of Jilin in the southeast of the northeast Chinese province of Jilin . It has an area of ​​6,235 km² and has approx. 470,000 inhabitants (end of 2009).

History of the place name

The administrative unit was established as Emu County (额 穆 县) in 1909 and renamed Jiaohe in 1939. In 1989, Jiaohe County was converted into an independent city.

Administrative structure

At the community level, Jiaohe consists of seven street districts , eight large communities , one community and one nationality community. These are:
