Jietai temple

The Jietai Temple ( Chinese  戒台寺 , Pinyin Jiètái sì ) is a Buddhist temple at the foot of the Ma'an Mountain (马鞍山) in Beijing's Mentougou district . It goes back to the time of the Sui Dynasty and thus has a history of over 1,400 years.

Its name comes from its unusually large ordination altar ( jietai ).

The temple has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-94) since 1994 .
