Joachim Michael Marzinkowski (born February 25, 1949 in Grevenbroich ) is Professor of Textile and Environmental Chemistry at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . He is head of the safety technology / environmental chemistry department.

Professional background

He completed his studies in textile chemistry and textile finishing in 1972 as an engineer grad. He later studied chemistry with a focus on macromolecular and textile chemistry. He graduated in 1978 with a degree in chemistry. In 1980 he was promoted to Dr. rer. nat. PhD . From 1980 to 1991 he was group and laboratory leader in the medium-sized chemical and textile industry in the area of ​​product and process development, in particular for the investigation and development of methods for process improvement (process control) and measures for integrated environmental protection. From 1991 to 1994 he worked as a professor at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences , Mönchengladbach in the subjects of chemistry and environmental protection. Since 1991 he has been in charge of various projects for the introduction of measures for integrated environmental protection in the medium-sized textile, paper and recycling industry, tank cleaning and the production of mushroom substrates, preparation and implementation of approval procedures according to BImSchV, creation of emission forecasts and operational concepts for water and wastewater management, Investigations into the use of membrane processes and oxidative wastewater treatment. Since 1994 he has been a professor at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal in the subjects of textile chemistry (until 2000) and safety technology / environmental chemistry (since 2000). His research focus is process-integrated environmental protection in connection with quality and cost aspects.
