Joe Phelan

Joe Phelan is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Phelan, a 1.96 meter tall winger, was a member of the college basketball team at the College of the Holy Cross , Massachusetts , until 1971 . In his final season he scored an average of 4.9 points per encounter. He went to Germany to work as a professional basketball player and was signed by SGN Essen, for which he played in the Bundesliga basketball team in the 1971/72  season. As of 1973, Phelan was still playing as a semi-professional in his home country, while he received  a college degree and doctorate from the University of Connecticut . He then worked at a school in the state of Massachusetts.
