job

Joe Siracuse was the son of James "Jimmy" Siracuse, owner of United Sound Studios in Detroit.

From 1948 to 1952 he was responsible for the recordings of the blues musician John Lee Hooker , including his debut Boogie Chillen ' . Siracuse's recordings are characterized by a high level of clarity, so that you can even hear the placing of your fingers on the strings . In the recording of I'm In the Mood (1951) Hooker's voice can be heard with an echo effect, which can be traced back to overdubbing , which was still new at the time . He also made recordings for Jackie Wilson at this time.

In 1971 he sold the studio to the record producer Don Davis (1938-2014).
