Joel Raaen

Joel Raaen (* 1950 ) is an American composer and arranger, trombonist, choir director and music teacher.

Raaen studied at Augsburg College in Minneapolis with Leland B. Sateren . He is the director of the church and town choir and wind ensemble for the city of Faribault , Minnesota. He also teaches at the Minnesota Academy for the Blind and is a member of two chamber music ensembles. He stood out especially with arrangements of musical works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods for modern wind ensembles (e.g. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's Rondo espressivo ).
