Johann Georg Koch

Johann Georg Koch (born August 2, 1952 in Kaufbeuren ; † December 11, 2007 there ) was a German lawyer. From 2004 until his death he was President of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BLKA).

Koch first studied law at the University of Augsburg and then worked there as a research assistant at the chair for public law. He later entered the Bavarian civil service and took on various functions in internal administration. From 1993 he worked in the police department of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior , most recently as head of the law of public security and order .

Effective December 1, 2001, Koch became head of the BLKA management team and permanent representative of President Heinz Haumer . After his retirement due to old age, he was appointed as the successor to the office of President on October 27, 2004.

Johann Georg Koch died as a result of a long and serious illness.
