John II (Vendôme)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John II († 1211 ) was a Count of Vendôme from the House of Preuilly . He was a son of Raoul von Vendôme and in 1202 succeeded his grandfather Burchard IV as count.

Johann was still under the age of majority, which is why his great-uncle Gottfried von Lavardin was the guardian of him. In March 1203 he paid homage to King Philip II August of France, thus taking into account the expropriation of the English King John Ohneland , who had been the liege lord of Vendôme in his capacity as Count of Anjou until then.

Since Johann II was not married, his uncle Johann III followed him on his death around 1211 . to.
