Johann Koch called Master (* 1430, † 1487 ) was a 15th century in Basel acting printers .

biography

Coming from Feldkirch (Vorarlberg), Koch was enrolled at the University of Basel in 1462 and is attested as a calligrapher and bookbinder around 1470 (with the name stamp "master"). He is also known as a freelance printer; around 1477 he had a few presses and employed up to eight journeymen. He is a possible printer of the famous Missale speciale (formerly Constantiense) . In some cases he had a business relationship with the printer Magister Peter Köllicker. He died in 1487, leaving behind debts.
