Johannes Münder

Johannes Münder (born December 6, 1944 ) is a German lawyer and emeritus professor of law at the Technical University of Berlin .

biography

Münder studied law and (initially at the same time) theater studies and political science at the universities of Munich, Berlin and Regensburg. In 1971 he passed the first state examination in law and began his legal traineeship in the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court. During his legal traineeship he studied sociology (pre-diploma) and received his doctorate in 1973 at the law faculty of the University of Regensburg in 1974 he passed the 2nd state examination in law. After doing research at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University, he worked at the Federal Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs (basic department for labor market policy) in Bonn and then at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. In 1979 he became a university professor, chair for social law and civil law, at the Technical University of Berlin. Münder retired at the end of the winter semester 2009/2010.

Münder is best known as the author and editor of numerous publications in the field of social and family law, some of which are considered standard works in their field.

Münder has been involved in various voluntary work, primarily in the social field, so u. a. at the Arbeiterwohlfahrt, the social pedagogical institute "Walter May" in Berlin, the institute for social work eV in Münster. At SOS-Kinderdorf Deutschland eV he was involved from 1988 to 1992 on the administrative board (supervisory board), from 1992 to 2016 on the executive board, of which from 2004-2016 as (honorary) chairman of the executive board. With his departure in 2016 he was appointed honorary chairman of the SOS Children's Village Germany eV.

Münder has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.

Johannes Münder is married to Rosemarie Münder and they have two grown children.
