Friedrich Wilhelm August Kummer (born October 31, 1790 in Hammerstein ; † 1876 ) was a German landowner and politician.

Life

August Kummer was the son of the bailiff and later domain manager in Hammerstein Friedrich Ferdinand Kummer and his wife Carlonie Elisabeth née Siebrandt.

August Kummer was the master of Gross-Koßlau. In the wars of freedom he became a volunteer hunter in 1813, second lieutenant in the 1st Bergisch Infantry Regiment in 1814 and later in the 28th Infantry Regiment and the 2nd West Prussian Infantry Regiment. In 1816 he switched to the Landwehr, where he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant in 1817 and in 1829 took his leave. In 1850 he became a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
