The foundation "Johanniterorden" or Johanniter Foundation was established in December 2002 as a non-profit foundation . Foundation purpose

The Johanniter Foundation is the central community foundation for all branches, institutions and works of the Order of St. John. These include the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe eV as the largest religious organization, the Johanniter-Schwesternschaft eV and the Johanniter-aid communities as well as the Johanniter GmbH with the inpatient facilities, the hospitals and the elderly care facilities. Endowment

A donation in favor of a selected area of ​​the Johanniter is possible and left to the donor freely. Nonetheless, there are theme funds of the Johanniter Foundation in which the income is donated to a specific purpose. These theme funds include:

The foundation supports hospice work and palliative medicine (soothing therapies for serious illnesses).
  • Theme fund 2: Volunteering / Youth:
“Volunteering is a matter of honor!” With this motto, the Johanniter are increasingly addressing volunteers , because many of the Johanniter's work areas would not be possible without volunteer work. Examples are: In the youth sector the school medical service, in foreign work the disaster relief, the work of the Johanniter relief communities.
  • Theme fund 3: work abroad:
Working abroad means organizing deliveries of aid to crisis areas in the short term, as well as improving health care in poor regions of the world in the long term.
  • Theme fund 4: Education and training:
