John Giles (athlete)
John Alfred Giles (born February 9, 1927 in the Municipal Borough of Edmonton ) is a former British shot putter .
In 1948 he was eleventh at the Olympic Games in London and in 1950 at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels eighth. At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was eliminated from qualification.
In 1949 he became English champion. He set his personal best of 15.44 m on May 3, 1950 in London .
