Menard studied economics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire . He is the founder and chairman of the US retail company Menards . According to Forbes Magazine , Menard is one of the richest Americans and is listed in The World's Billionaires 2005. Menard is married with six children and lives with his family in Eau Claire , Wisconsin . His son is NASCAR racing driver Paul Menard .
