from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Richard James Groves is an Australian mathematician who studies geometric group theory.

Groves studied at the University of Oxford (bachelor's degree) and received his doctorate in 1971 under László Kovács at the Australian National University (Varieties of soluble groups). He was later an Associate Professor at Melbourne University.
