Nomansland were a Dutch dance music project , which had a top European hit in 1996 with 7 Seconds . The following title, Fantasy , was also able to place in the lower areas of the Austrian charts in 1997.

history

The band consisted of the singer Jojanneke van der Veer (born October 15, 1975) and the two producers Alexander Strasser-Hain and Sven Kirschner. Both changed their pseudonyms several times during the project. Among other things, they also worked together under Eddie Gibson & Kevin Estevez, which is why the group is assigned these names as members in some sources.

The group was able to record a Europe-wide success with the track 7 Seconds (similar samples were used on the track as on the previously published track Seven Days and One Week by the group BBE . However, the vocal track by Jojanneke van der Veer was superimposed here). Initially, the piece was popular in the discos in Ibiza and developed into a club hit there. In autumn 1996, the single then entered the European charts. The follow-up single Fantasy was also a considerable success in the discos in 1997. A promotional video and extended remixes were also released for both hit singles. After that, however, there was no further publication with Jojanneke van der Veer as a singer.

Later attempts with a new vocal line-up could not repeat the success. The single Greensleeves (Strassner and Kirschner this time under the pseudonym Alex Trime & Sven "Delgado" Jordan) did not make it into the German charts, so the project was abandoned and Nomansland broke up again.

Jojanneke van der Veer then took part in other musical projects. After her musical career, she worked in the field of journalism and as a fashion designer. Alexander Strasser and Sven Kirschner remained active in the music business, but then devoted themselves to other projects or produced for other artists (including for DJ Bobo and Thomas Anders ).

In 2005 the North German producer duo Fait Albrecht & Marcel Möllnitz continued to work for a short time with a similar concept under the same name. The two singles Voice From Down and Soul Out There were also released with a female singing voice , which can also be assigned to dance trance, but have not achieved any chart successes. Then they turned back to their original Clubbticket project.
