history

In 1928 Johann Mohr founded the company in Selbitz at the Garlesstrasse location. At that time, 600 pairs of shoes were produced a year.

His son, Wilhelm Mohr, ran the company from 1945 to 1970.

In 1970, when he was 23 years old, Helmut Mohr took over the JOMOS shoe factory from his father. Under his leadership, production grew from 50,000 pairs of shoes to almost 600,000 pairs a year, which, according to the company, was "the most men's shoes in Germany in 2006".

His commitment to Christian values, employee-friendly working hours and the payment of fair wages to suppliers was honored with an award in February 2011 by the Congress of Christian Executives .
