Jonas from Bobbio
Jonas von Bobbio (* around 600 in Susa (Piedmont) , † after 659) was a monk and hagiographer .
In 618 he joined the abbey of Bobbio , founded by Columbanus the Younger , where he soon became secretary to Abbots Atalla († 626) and Bertulf († 639), successor to the Irish founder, due to his literary skills, which were considerable for the time. In 628 he accompanied Abbot Bertulf to Rome. He commissioned Jonas von Bobbio to write a vita of St. Columbanus. This is received as Vita Columbani .
