Jong Oh (* 1981 in Nouadhibou , Mauritania ) is a Korean installation artist.

life and work

Jong Oh studied sculpture at Hongik University , Seoul , South Korea from 2000 to 2008 and fine arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City from 2009 to 2011 . He uses a wide variety of materials for his works, such as B. metal elements, wood or threads. Objects of daily use also play an important role in his work. A tiny brass knob, a chair leg, every detail within its arrangements matters. His often abstract, minimalist room installations act like a kind of drawing in the room and exude a filigree and detailed elegance. In doing so, they almost entirely defy fixed categorization.

Jong Oh lives and works in New York City , USA and South Korea .
