José Antonio Abad Vidal

José Antonio Abad Vidal (* in Sanlúcar de Barrameda , Province of Cádiz , Spain ) is a Spanish pianist, composer and music teacher.

Life

José Antonio Abad Vidal's father, who studied violin and piano, introduces José Antonio to music. He received his first music lessons at the Aula de Música in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. He then studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Castillo" de Sevilla . José Manuel de Diego and Ana Guijarro (* 1955) taught him the piano, José María Redondo in chamber music and Manuel Castillo (1930–2005), Antonio José Flores and Luís Ignacio Marín (* 1955) in composition. He achieved degrees in solfège , music theory, piano accompaniment, piano and composition. He took further courses with the Belgian pianist Frederic Gevers (1923–1997), the pianists Pilar Bilbao and Carmen Bravo, the widow Federico Mompous , Cristóbal Halffter , the Bach expert Daniel Vega Cernuda and the composers Ramón Roldán Samiñán (* 1954), Joan Guinjoan (* 1931) and Philippe Hurel (* 1955). Some of his works were the Festival de Música Española de Cádiz and the X Ciclo de Música Contemporánea of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga listed . The interpreters of his music include the pianists Alberto González Calderón and Javier Perianes as well as the soprano Rosa Maria de Alba. He taught piano at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Manuel de Falla" de Cádiz and at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Joaquín Villatoro" de Jerez de la Frontera . He is currently teaching piano at the Conservatorio Elemental de Música "Joaquín Turina" de Sanlúcar de Barrameda .
