José Carlos Malato

José Carlos Malato (born March 7, 1964 in Monforte ) is a Portuguese television and radio presenter.

Career

He began working as a secretary at the age of sixteen. Two years later he went to France to help with the grape harvest. When he returned to Portugal, he worked as an administrative officer in the emergency department of Hospital São José in Lisbon.

He made his debut as a radio announcer in 1985 on the pirate station Rádio A in Tires . The following year he continued his career with the Oeiras- based Rádio Miramar , where he developed the program Trovas do Vento que Passa, among other things . In 1988 he helped set up the private radio station Rádio Comercial da Linha , where he worked as a speaker for four years. This was followed by moderations at XFM , Rádio Renascença and RFM . He was program manager at Rádio Comercial and Antena 3 . During this time he studied philosophy at the University of Lisbon and graduated from the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa with a degree in communication studies.

He then switched to television as a production assistant, where he made the leap in front of the camera as a presenter. In the RTP program he presented Portugal no Coração , Um Contra Todos , A Herança , Jogo Duplo and Sexta à Noite . Since July 2010 he has hosted Quem Quer Ser Milionário? - Alta Pressão , the Portuguese edition of the quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
