José Francisco Gabriel de Anda (born June 5, 1971 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender . He is currently the sports director at his former club, CF Pachuca .

Life

Gabriel de Anda began his professional career in the 1992/93 season at Club Universidad Nacional and came via the Correcaminos de la UAT , for which he played between 1993 and 1995, to Club Santos Laguna , with which he won the Mexican championship in the winter of 1996 .

After a stopover at the CD Cruz Azul , for which he played between 1998 and 2000, Gabriel de Anda was under contract with CF Pachuca from mid-2000 to the end of 2005 , with whom he won two further championship titles. At the end of his active career, he played again for his former club Santos Laguna.

National team

Gabriel de Anda made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on April 13, 1997 in a 6-0 win over Jamaica. Gabriel was used for Mexico in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup in the games against Australia and Brazil. A year and a half later, his international career was interrupted for several years with the game on November 18, 1998 against Guatemala (2-2). The only goal in this first period of his membership in the national team he scored on March 18, 1998 against Paraguay to the 1-1 final.

In 2002 he was called up again for the national team and played four games. He scored the winning goal to beat Bulgaria 1-0 on April 17, 2002. Gabriel de Anda played his last international match on May 12, 2002 in a 2-1 win against Colombia.

Although he was also appointed to the Mexican World Cup squad for 2002 , he remained there without a commitment.
