José Luis Salgado Gómez (born April 3, 1966 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player who served in defense .

Life

society

Salgado began his professional career in 1985 with his hometown club UNAM Pumas , for which he was under contract until 1990. After stops at the Tecos de la UAG , with whom he won the Mexican championship in 1993/94 , and the CF Monterrey , he played between 1995 and 2000 for Club America , the arch-rival of his ex-club Pumas.

National team

Salgado made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team in a five-minute mission in a game played on January 17, 1987 against El Salvador, which was won 3-1. His two other international appearances were one half on December 16, 1993 against Brazil (0-1) and the full length on March 29, 1995 against Chile (2-1).

The highlight of his international career was his appointment to the Mexican World Cup squad in 1994 , but at the World Cup itself Salgado had to be content with the role of reservist.
