Josef Steger

Josef Steger (born October 5, 1879 in Balzers ; † February 18, 1963 there ) was a Liechtenstein politician .

biography

Steger was the son of the baker Johann Anton Steger and his wife Louisa (née Frick). He was a citizen of the Balzers community and worked as a bricklayer and farmer. From 1924 to 1927 and again from 1930 to 1933 he was a member of the Balzers municipal council. Furthermore, from April 1926 to 1928, Steger was a member of the Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein for the People's Party (VP) . After he was a member of the government from 1923 to 1926 , he held this office again from 1932 to 1936. During this second term he moved to the Progressive Citizens' Party (FBP).

From 1936 to 1945 he was a member of the supervisory board of the savings and loan fund of the Principality of Liechtenstein .

In 1920 he married Anna Wille. The marriage gave birth to a son, who later became government councilor Gregor Steger .
