Josep Ayats Surribas (1915)

Josep Ayats Surribas (born November 14, 1886 in Olot ; died 1949 in Madrid ) was a Catalan politician and member of the Spanish Parliament during the Second Republic .

biography

From 1910 to 1911 he was director of the El Norte newspaper in Girona . In 1922 he joined the Partit Social Popular with other anti-Karlins, Mauritians and Christian Democrats .

He supported the dictatorship of Miguel Primo de Rivera and became a member of the National Consultative Assembly in 1927. He was then a member of the Liberal Republican Right and a member of the Girona Province in the Spanish parliamentary elections of 1931 and 1933. As an opponent of ERC nationalism, he was a member of the Catalan People's Action Committee in 1934 and in 1935 became Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor under the leadership of Minister Josep Oriol Anguera de Sojo appointed. In the Spanish parliamentary elections of 1936 he was called up by the Front Català d'Ordre, but not elected.
