Joseph Khalil Aoun
Joseph Khalil Aoun (born January 10, 1964 in Sin el-Fil ) is a Lebanese general and since 2017 the commander in chief of the Lebanese armed forces .
Life
Aoun joined the Lebanese armed forces in 1983 and received his training a. a. in the United States and Syria . Since 2015 he has been the commander of the 9th Infantry Brigade in Beirut . On March 8, 2017, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces to succeed Jean Kahwagi .
The Maronite Christian Joseph Aoun is married to Nehmat Nehmeh and has two children.
