Joseph Todaro, Jr.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joseph "Big Joe" Todaro, Jr. is an Italian-American mobster of the US Cosa Nostra and a member of the Magaddino family (Buffalo crime family) , which operates from its headquarters in Buffalo, New York .

Life

Joseph Jr. is a partner in the La Nova Pizzeria chain. It is one of the largest fast food chains in the Buffalo area and the most successful independent pizzeria in the United States with more than $ 25,000,000 in annual pizza and chicken wing sales.

In 1985, Joseph Todaro, Jr. became underboss after his father, Joseph Todaro, Sr., was appointed the new boss of the family by the American Mafia Commission .

In the mid-1990s, according to the United States Department of Justice , Joseph Todaro, Sr. was semi-retired and his son Joseph Todaro, Jr. was given the position of incumbent boss, while his father remained the official head of the family until Leonard "The Calzone" Falzone (until then consigliere of the family) replaced him in 2006 and became the new head. Todaro, Jr. then became consigliere. In 2012, however, Todaro Jr. is said to have been replaced as Consigliere by Victor Sansanese .

Since late 2013, it seems, the Falzone era has been drawing to a close as Anthony Joseph Todaro (son of Joseph Todaro, Jr.) tries to take over the running of the family. However, these claims have not yet been officially confirmed. Falzone is still officially the boss.
