Jovi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jovi or Iovi is the name of the highest Assyrian god after the Alexander historian Quintus Curtius Rufus .

It is possible that the name of this deity is etymologically and essentially related to the Hebrew YHWH , who, as is well known , was brought to Canaan by Abraham from his home in Harran in Mesopotamia .

We also learn from Curtius Rufus that war chariots were dedicated to this deity.
