Ju-On: Origins (originally 呪 怨 : 呪 い の 家 ) is a Japanese horror series from 2020. The series was released worldwide on July 3, 2020 on Netflix . It is the first series in the Ju-on series by Takashi Shimizu .

The series tells different storylines.
Yasuo Odajima investigates supernatural phenomena for his book. During a talk show about paranormal events, he met the case of the young actress Haruka Honjo. She hears a child's noises in her apartment and has recorded them.
Kiyomi is coming to a new school. Her classmates feign interest and want to play with her together with cats in an abandoned house. However, it turns out to be a deception and the two girls hold Kiyomi on the floor so that a friend of theirs can rape her. One of the girls, Mai, suddenly disappears.

Trivia
The leading actress Yuina Kuroshima had her first film role in Ju-on: The Beginning of the End (2014) and also starred in Ju-on: The Final Curse (2015).
