Juan Guo

Juan Guo ( Chinese  郭 鹃 , Pinyin Guō Juān ; born May 6, 1960 in Hunan , People's Republic of China ) is a professional Go player (5th Dan). She currently lives in Amsterdam .

Guo was a student of Jiang Mingjiu ( Chinese  江 鸣 久 , Pinyin Jiāng Míngjiǔ ) and trained in the Chinese national team. Today she lives in the Netherlands, where she became a citizen in May 1994, and teaches Go.

successes

Guo was European champion in the years 1994–1997, as well as the winner of the Open European Championships in the years 1994–1996 (the winner of the Open European Championships is the first place in the tournament, the European champion is the top placed European). Further important victories are the European Ing Cup in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998 and the Fujitsu tournament in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 2000. She also has the tournaments in Paris (1997, 1999), London (1997, 1998, 1999), Amsterdam (1995, 1997, 1998) and Hamburg (1996, 1998, 1999) as well as a number of smaller tournaments.
