Judith Sargentini
Judith Sargentini (born March 13, 1974 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch politician for the GroenLinks party .
Life
After completing school at the Spinozalyceum grammar school in Amsterdam, Sargentini studied history at the University of Amsterdam . Sargentini has been politically active since 1990 and became a member of the “GroenLinks” party. It was in the 2002 City Council elected by Amsterdam, which she belonged by 2009.
Since 2009 Sargentini is the European Parliament first member of the Greens / European Free Alliance in the European Parliament and the European Green Party .
EU parliamentarian
Sargentini is Vice-Chair of the Delegation for Relations with South Africa.
She is a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs . On the basis of the report submitted on behalf of the committee, the European Parliament decided in September 2018 for the first time to initiate Article 7 proceedings against Hungary for violating the fundamental values of the European Union .
She is a deputy in the Development Committee and in the delegation in the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee.
