Youth Protection Act (Lithuania)

Law on the Protection of Young People of the Republic of Lithuania (lit. Lietuvos Respublikos nepilnamečių apsaugos nuo neigiamo viešosios informacijos poveikio įstatymas , the Law on "Protection of Young People from the Harmful Consequences of Public Information") is a Lithuanian law for the protection of children and young people (minors) in public. The law was passed in 2009 with a majority of 67 of the 74 parliamentarians of Seimas . Critics claim that it discriminates against homosexuals . The Vilnius- based ambassador of the Western European countries expressed concern for the protection of young people from the harmful consequences of public information to Dalia Grybauskaitė .
