- from 1922 to 1961 the first youth welfare law in Germany was called the Reichsgesetz für Jugendwohlfahrt (RJWG) or also abbreviated Youth Welfare Act, which came into force in 1924 in the first German republic (so-called Weimar Republic ).
- The Reich Law for Youth Welfare was still in force in the Federal Republic of Germany until 1961 ; it was replaced in the GDR in 1950 by the law on the participation of young people in the construction of the German Democratic Republic and the promotion of young people in school and at work, in sports and recreation and from 1963 through the youth law of the GDR .
