Jujutsu Kaisen ( Japanese 呪 術 廻 戦 ) is a manga series by Gege Akutami that has been published in Japan since 2018. The adventure and fantasy manga has been translated into several languages, and an adaptation as an anime is announced for 2020.

At his high school in Sendai , Yuji Itadori avoids the athletics club and prefers to go to the occult club. Because there the actually sporty student can relax with the other two members Sasaki and Iguchi and leave school early to visit his sick grandfather. When he dies soon afterwards, he gives up his grandson to help everyone and not to die alone. Then Yuji is visited by Megumi Fushiguro, a student at the municipal high school for magic. He's looking for an amulet with a curse on it. But Sasaki and Iguchi have taken the amulet and broken the seal of the curse. Inside the amulet lies a withered finger, the magic of which attracts curses and demons to the school and puts both students in danger. Megumi tries to help them, but the magic can't stand it. Finally, Yuji swallows his finger to gain power and is able to save his friends. But now the curse tries to take possession of him and Megumi's teacher Satoru Gojo wants to cast out the curse and kill Yuji in the process. Fortunately, the student can control the magic within himself and thus receives a reprieve from the teacher and the school of magic.

The manga has been published in Shūkan Shōnen Jump magazine by Shueisha since March 2018 . He brought out the chapters in seven anthologies so far. The fourth of these volumes sold over 120,000 times in the first two weeks after publication. In December 2018, a special edition Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ( 呪 術 廻 戦 0: 東京 都 立 呪 術 高等 専 門 学校 Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō ) was published.

A German translation of the series has been published by Kazé since November 2019 . The special volume was announced for 2020. An English version is provided by Viz Media , a Spanish version by Norma Editorial .

Ballad Kitaguni also published a novel on the history of the manga on May 1, 2019. A second novel will follow in January 2020.
